Job summary

CRISTEK INTERCONNECTS INC is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator to set up, run, and monitor precision components per engineering drawings and GD&T. You will load and adjust CNC programs, verify tooling and offsets, and perform rigorous inspections with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate clearly in English. The position offers opportunities for growth, shift differential for 2nd shift, overtime, and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of CNC lathe setup and operation.
• G-code, M-code, CNC controls, offsets, and wear adjustments.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, setup docs, and machining specifications.
• Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision inspection equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine and moderately complex machining problems.
• Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Know ITAR compliance and U.S. person requirements where applicable.

What You’ll Do

Independently sets up, operates, and monitors CNC lathes to produce precision-machined components according to engineering drawings, GD&T, setup sheets, and customer specifications. Performs tooling and work holding setup, loads and edits CNC programs, establishes offsets, conducts inspections, troubleshoots machining issues, and makes process adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.

Requirements

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision-machined components.
• Interpret blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, setup sheets, and engineering requirements.
• Select, install, and adjust tooling, inserts, chucks, collets, fixtures, and other work holding.
• Load, edit, and verify CNC programs, including approved G-code and M-code changes.
• Establish tool geometry, work offsets, and wear offsets.
• Set and maintain appropriate speeds, feeds, depths of cut, and cutting conditions.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Make program, offset, and tooling adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Troubleshoot tool wear, chatter, poor surface finish, dimensional variation, and chip-control issues.
• Monitor production runs and replace worn or damaged cutting tools.
• Verify materials, tooling, programs, and documentation before production.
• Maintain accurate production, inspection, and machine records.
• Assist with new-job setups, program prove-outs, and process improvements.
• Communicate machining issues and priorities with programming, engineering, quality, and production.
• Train or assist less‑experienced operators when needed.
• Meet established quality, production, and delivery requirements.
• Follow all safety procedures and company standards.
• Additional duties as required.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• A combination of relevant CNC machining experience, technical training, vocational education, or apprenticeship may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Typically requires 3-5 years of related CNC machining or manufacturing experience, including independent CNC lathe setup, program editing, tooling adjustment, inspection, and troubleshooting.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to understand technical English used in blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, safety procedures, quality records, engineering communications, and CNC programming documentation.
• Ability to communicate machining conditions, quality concerns, production priorities, and corrective actions in English.
• Where applicable, ability to satisfy company and government requirements for access to ITAR-controlled technical data or defense articles, including qualification as a U.S. person under applicable regulations or eligibility for required authorization.
• Ability to protect controlled technical information and comply with export-control, confidentiality, and information security requirements.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
• Ability to support and guide less‑experienced operators.
• Bilingual communication skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
• Frequently use hands and fingers to operate controls, tools, measuring equipment, and materials.
• Reach, grasp, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in awkward positions as needed.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tooling, fixtures, and finished parts as required.
• Safely handle metal stock, cutting tools, chips, coolants, lubricants, and machined components.
• Read blueprints, CNC displays, setup sheets, and precision measurements.
• Distinguish dimensional, surface-finish, tooling, and quality characteristics.
• Hear machine alarms, safety signals, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions.
• Work around machine noise, moving equipment, metal chips, cutting fluids, vibration, and temperature variations.
• Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
• Use mechanical assistance or material-handling equipment when provided.
• Perform essential job functions safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
