Job summary
CoreDux USA in San Diego seeks a skilled CNC Lathe Set-Up technician for the 2nd shift (1:45pm - 10:15pm). You will set-up, verify, and run CNC lathes to produce parts per customer specs, inspect first pieces and in-process work, and maintain ISO 9000 paperwork.
Join our expanding team and contribute to high-precision manufacturing in a dynamic facility. The role requires 5+ years CNC job shop experience, close tolerances, and proficiency with blueprints and programming codes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years CNC job shop experience.
- Must work to close tolerances in a high-volume environment.
- Proficient with complicated blueprints and advanced calculations.
- Familiar with CNC programming codes and complex set-ups.
- Ability to follow written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of cutting tool feeds and speeds.
- Understanding true position tolerancing and Cartesian coordinates.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Set-up of CNC lathes including calibration of cutting tools and locating work offsets.
- Verify CNC programs and operate lathes as required.
- Complete paperwork in line with ISO 9000 standards.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections of first piece and in-process work.
- Maintain clean work area and proper handling of tools and stock.
- Assist in training machinists or supervising operators.
- Handle deburring, modification, rework and assembly tasks as needed.
- May receive hazardous materials handling training.

The primary function of this position is to set-up, verify, and operate CNC lathes to machine complex parts to customer requirements.
2nd Shift (1:45pm - 10:15pm)
Other responsibilities will include:
- Set-up of CNC lathes including calibration of cutting tools and location of work offsets for part production.
- Verification of CNC programs and, when required, operation of lathes.
- Completion of all applicable paperwork (working to ISO 9000 standards).
- Performance of dimensional and visual inspections for first piece and in-process manufacturing.
- Cleanliness of the work area and proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent damage or loss.
- Assist in training other machinists or in supervising machine operators.
- Related detail work including de-burring, modification, re-work and assembly, as needed.
- May require training in hazardous material handling depending on job assignment.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Minimum 5years CNC job shop experience.
- Must work to close tolerances in a high volume environment.
- Must be proficient with complicated blueprints and advanced job shop mathematical calculations.
- Familiar with CNC programming codes and able to perform complex set‑ups for prototype and production runs.
- Must be able to follow written instructions and to work with no supervision.
- Must be familiar with cutting tool feeds and speeds.
- Understanding of true position tolerancing and Cartesian coordinate systems.
- Requires frequent bending, reaching and lifting of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
This position is paying between $28-$38 per hour depending on experience.
