Job summary

Aerotek in Phoenix, AZ seeks a CNC Machinist - Lathe Operator to set up, program, and operate CNC mills and lathes for piston rings. You will interpret CAD drawings, run production, inspect parts, and maintain equipment.

First and second shifts offered with overtime; the role is onsite in a client-controlled machine shop, paying $24.00-$32.00/hr. The position starts immediately with a 2026-08-12 deadline for application submission.

Qualifications

• Proficiency setting up, operating, and programming CNC lathes.
• Interpret CAD drawings to develop CNC programs.
• Strong blueprint reading with tolerances.
• Experience with manual lathe operation.
• Solid shop mathematics for offsets and dimensions.
• Ability to troubleshoot programs and tooling.
• 2+ years CNC machinist experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes and mills for piston rings per drawings.
• Program CNC machines from CAD data with accurate tool paths.
• Interpret blueprints and documentation for dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate machines during production and monitor performance and quality.
• Inspect finished parts for conformance to CAD specs.
• Perform routine machine maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot machine/process issues and adjust as needed.
• Apply shop math to verify offsets and parameters.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area per procedures.
