Job summary

Lawrence Equipment, Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to set up and operate a HAAS TL-3 CNC lathe at our El Monte, CA facility. You will produce precision components to print, maintain tight tolerances, and operate the machine safely.

You will read blueprints, interpret GD&T symbols, select tools and set speeds/feeds, and perform basic programming at the control. You will inspect finished parts with precision gauges and support lean manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a CNC lathe machinist in a production or job-shop environment.
• Hands-on experience operating HAAS or comparable CNC lathes (HAAS TL-3 preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/blueprints, including GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges).
• Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, speeds/feeds, and materials.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a HAAS TL-3 CNC lathe to produce parts per specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T; load materials and select tools, speeds, and feeds.
• Perform basic CNC programming edits at the control and verify dimensions with precision instruments.
• Maintain tolerances and surface finish; monitor quality and document results.
• Follow safety policies and maintain clean, organized work area; participate in continuous improvement.
