The ideal candidate has 2+ years of CNC laser experience, strong measurement skills with calipers and micrometers, and a reliable attendance record.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC plate laser and tube laser cutting equipment.
• Cut metal plate, sheet, and structural tubing according to job specs.
• Create, load, and adjust nesting programs to maximize material usage.
• Load raw materials and unload finished parts safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, shop orders, and 3D CAD prints.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, and cutting parameters.
• Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Perform deburring, grinding, and scrap removal as needed.
• Use forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials when qualified.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and clean machine optics and nozzles.
• Monitor cutting gases and troubleshoot minor machine issues.
• Follow safety, quality, and production procedures.

CNC Laser Operator - Direct Hire.

Openwork is seeking an experienced CNC Laser Operator for a direct-hire opportunity with a manufacturing operation in Oklahoma City. This position is ideal for a skilled operator with hands-on CNC plate laser or tube laser experience who can set up equipment, create nesting programs, read technical drawings, and consistently produce quality parts.

Position at a Glance:

• Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73179.
• Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour, based on experience.
• Schedule: Monday - Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
• Overtime: As needed based on business needs.
• Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Set up and operate CNC plate laser and tube laser cutting equipment.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• 2+ years of CNC laser or tube laser experience required.
• CNC laser setup experience required.
• Experience creating and adjusting nesting programs required.
• Ability to read technical drawings, shop orders, and specifications.
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances, and cutting quality.
• Basic machine troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality.
• Reliable and consistent attendance.
• Flexibility to work overtime based on business needs.

Work Environment:

• Non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
• Industrial noise levels requiring participation in a hearing conservation program.
• Ability to safely lift 25-50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, and remain active throughout the scheduled shift.
• Regular work around industrial machinery and metal materials.
• Overtime may be required based on business needs.
