Job summary

A prominent recruitment agency is seeking a CNC Field Service Technician for the New England territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CNC machine tool equipment. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to travel regionally up to 100% of the workweek. Candidates with more than 2 years of experience in similar roles are preferred. An Associates degree and a valid driver’s license are also required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years as a CNC Field Service Technician or Engineer highly preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working with CNC controls.
  • Experience with precision rotating machinery and spindles is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain CNC equipment.
  • Conduct machine maintenance training as part of after-sales technical support.
  • Perform and promote preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment.

Job description

We are partnered with one of the largest machine tool distribution networks in North America in their search for CNC Field Service Technicians! The team is growing and adding a CNC Field Service Technician for the New England territory! This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of CNC machine tool equipment, controls and other components purchased by customers.

Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain CNC machine tool equipment and controls
  • Identify areas for performance improvement on equipment; perform and promote preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment
  • Detect and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical components
  • Utilize machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues
  • Effectively communicate machine issues, status of install or status of machine repair to customer; ensure proper documentation is completed and submitted to office and customer
  • Exhibit ownership of customer related problems and coordinate with appropriate departments when necessary for resolution of problems to ensure customer service satisfaction
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in the field
  • Maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company
  • Stay abreast of vendor products and new technology and implement as appropriate
  • Conduct machine maintenance training as a component of after-sales technical support
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Associates degree in a related field is preferred; High School Diploma/GED required
  • 2+ years as a CNC Field Service Technician or Engineer highly preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 3+ years of experience working with CNC controls
  • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics; familiarity with precision measuring equipment
  • Experience with precision rotating machinery, spindles, precision bearings highly beneficial
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail with technical aptitude is required
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and other related business programs
  • Must be able to work unscheduled overtime without notice
  • Valid drivers license and auto/vehicle insurance required
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 100% of the workweek; some overnight travel required and some domestic travel required
  • Must provide basic hand tools for electrical/mechanical repair
Required Citizenship / Work Permit / Visa Status
  • Associate's degree in a related field is preferred. High School Diploma/GED required
  • Hands on experience working with CNC controls is a must
  • 2+ years as a CNC Field Service Technician or Engineer highly preferred
  • Experience with precision rotating machinery, spindles, and precision bearings is highly beneficial
