Job summary

Morris Group, Inc., including Morris South division, is seeking a CNC Field Service Technician in Savannah, GA. You will install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain CNC machine tool equipment at customer sites, using manuals and vendor resources to diagnose issues.

The role requires 5+ years of mechanical/electrical repair experience, ability to read drawings, strong communication, and willingness to travel regionally.

Qualifications

  • MUST have 5+ years of experience with mechanical/electrical repair of CNC machine tools.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and other business programs as necessary.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain CNC machine tool equipment and controls.
  • Research machine issues using manuals, technical documents, and vendor resources.
  • Complete and submit documentation on machine issues, repairs, and installations.
  • Promote and perform preventative maintenance and provide after-sales technical support and training.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of machine tool products represented by the company.

Job Responsibilities:

The CNC Field Service Technician will have an extensive understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to effectively detect and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical components. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Traveling to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all CNC machine tool equipment and controls for customer organizations

  • Utilizing machine tool manuals, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to research machine issues

  • Ensuring proper documentation is completed and submitted to office and customer in regards to status of machine issues, repairs, and installation

  • Promoting and performing preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment and conducting after-sales technical support and training

  • Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company

  • Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
