CNC Programmer
Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·Analyzes machining work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and other data specifications to perform the necessary calculations; including interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
·Writes programs using CAM (Esprit), by hand or modifies existing programs and stores them on an offline computer to then load into the machine’s controller.
·Prepares CNC controller, including fixture or part zeros and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, trigonometry, proving part programs.
·Sets-up mills by installing and adjusting, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, and stops; indicating vises, CNC indexers, custom fixtures and tramming heads.
·Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to Waterstone’s internal standards.
·Maintains batch specifications by observing milling, drilling, grooving, and cutting; thread milling and tapping operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
·Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
·Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
·Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
·Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
·Updates job knowledge and state of the art, cutting edge techniques by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
·Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
·Understands and comprehends verbal and written communication.
·Requires regular, reliable attendance.
·Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
Education and Qualifications:
·Must have 3-5 years of experience
