Job summary

Morris Midwest, a division of Morris Group, Inc., is seeking a motivated Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team in Illinois. You will program and set up CNC lathes, mills, and Swiss machines while delivering training on safe operation and best practices.

Qualified applicants will have hands-on CNC machining experience, familiarity with Swiss/Okuma controls, and strong CAD/CAM skills. Travel across our regional territory and a commitment to quality are expected as you support

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on CNC machining experience.
  • Experience with Swiss and Okuma controls is a plus.
  • Solid CAD/CAM knowledge is required.
  • Strong customer service and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop/implement demonstrations and train customers on safe operation of CNC machines.

We are seeking a motivated Preventative Maintenance Technician willing to learn. Summary of Responsibility:

Our Applications Engineers are bringing expertise in the newest technology in machines, cutting tools, and programming software. We need your validated experience to bring innovative ideas to our customers. Morris is looking for the brightest machinists and programmers to offer the best training, problem solving, customer support and solutions that are unmatched by our competitors.

What You Will Contribute:

  • Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals
  • Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications
  • Programming and setting up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills, and Swiss style lathes
  • Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/ or multi-tasking machines
  • Maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Strong hands-on machining background with at least 3 years of experience with CNC machines
  • Experience on Swiss and Okuma controls is a plus
  • Proven solid understanding of CAD/CAM software is vital
  • MasterCam, Esprit and Solidworks experience is a plus
  • Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal skills required
  • Frequent travel throughout our regional territory
