Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a hands-on Machinist to operate CNC mills, lathes, waterjet, laser cutters, and 3D printers. You will read engineering drawings, generate toolpaths with CAM software, and ensure parts meet tolerances.

Maintain shop organization, schedule work, and liaise with Engineering to align requirements and timelines. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a machine shop, proficiency with CAM and machining, and strong self-direction to prioritize tasks and close fabrication

Qualifications

2 years hands-on machine shop experience.
Experience operating CNC mills and lathes.
Experience with waterjet or laser cutting.
Experience with 3D printing workflows.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Knowledge of CAM software and CNC program generation.
Ability to troubleshoot machining and equipment issues independently.
Strong time management and self-direction to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC mill, lathe, waterjet, laser cutter, and 3D printers to produce parts to specification.
Read CAD drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine fabrication requirements.
Use CAM software to generate CNC toolpaths and run programs to close fabrication tickets.
Perform quality checks on finished parts to verify tolerances.
Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs as needed.
Manage daily work order prioritization and production scheduling with remote input.
Keep the shop floor organized and production-ready at all times.
Coordinate with Engineering to clarify part requirements and timelines.
Maintain accurate records of work orders and material usage.
