Job summary

Prince Industries is seeking a CNC 5-Axis Machinist/Operator in Tampa, FL, to run established jobs on 5-axis centers with Siemens controls. You will produce quality parts, monitor processes, check dimensions, and promptly report issues.

The role requires reading drawings, GD&T, and precision measuring tools; aerospace or tight-tolerance experience is a plus, with OT availability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of machining experience.
• Apprenticeship or certificado in machining or equivalent hands-on exp.
• Training or demonstrated experience with Siemens CNC controls (840D/Sinumerik One).
• Additional training in 5-axis machining, blueprint reading, GD&T, and inspection methods is a plus.
• Ability to machine parts to +/- 0.0005".
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints to spec.

Responsibilities

• Operate 5-axis CNC machining centers using approved programs and setup instructions.
• Load and unload parts, confirm seating and clamping, monitor cycles.
• Perform routine tool changes and tool offset adjustments.
• Check parts with calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges.
• Follow drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements to maintain dimensions and finish.
• Identify tool wear or abnormal conditions and stop and notify as needed.
• Keep machines and work areas clean and follow safety procedures.
• Communicate job status and handoff information to the next shift.
• Assist with department transfers to meet production needs.

Job Summary

The CNC 5-Axis Machinist/Operator will run established jobs on 5-axis machining centers equipped with Siemens controls. This role is responsible for producing quality parts, monitoring the machining process, checking dimensions, and communicating issues promptly

Second Shift Hours

Monday - Friday, 3:30pm - 12:00am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate 5-axis CNC machining centers using approved programs and setup instructions.


• Load and unload parts, confirm proper seating and clamping, and monitor machining cycles.


• Perform routine tool changes and approved tool offset adjustments within established limits.


• Check parts at the required intervals using calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and other measuring equipment.


• Follow drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements to maintain part dimensions and finish.


• Recognize tool wear, abnormal machine conditions, and parts trending toward tolerance limits; stop and notify the appropriate person when needed.


• Maintain clean machines and work areas and follow all safety procedures.


• Communicate job status, problems, and handoff information to the next shift.


• Additional responsibilities assigned by the supervisor may include department transfers to meet production needs.

Required Skills & Attributes

• Experience operating CNC machining centers; 5-axis experience required.


• Experience with Siemens CNC controls preferred.


• Ability to read drawings and use precision measuring tools.


• Understanding machining practices, tool wear, and dimensional tolerances.


• Ability to follow established processes, work independently, and ask for support when a process moves outside approved limits.


• Aerospace or other tight-tolerance machining experience required.


• Strong work ethic: Willing to work OT to meet tight deadlines as needed.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or GED.


• 2+ Years of Experience


• Machining apprenticeship, technical certificate, or associate degree in machining or manufacturing technology preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience is accepted.


• Training or demonstrated experience with Siemens CNC controls required (preferably 840D or Sinumerik One).


• Additional training in 5-axis machining, blueprint reading, GD&T, and inspection methods is a plus


• Ability to machine parts to +/- 0.0005\".


• Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints to the needed specification in creating a part.

Physical Job Requirements

• Regularly required to stand and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours.


• Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.


• Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycles work.


• Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.


• Strong work ethic: Willing to work OT to meet tight deadlines as needed.


• Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures: safety glasses, shoes, ear protection, machine interlocks, lifting guidelines, etc. as designated in specific work area assigned.

Compensation

$22 - $30/hr.

We are also offering a $2,500 sign-on bonus.
