Elderwood at Lockport is offering a Regular Full-Time position in their CNA Training Track. This exciting role provides paid training for nursing aspirants, including nursing students and former CNAs, HHAs, or PCAs.

You will assist residents in various tasks and complete a three-week CNA training course during your work hours. Qualifications include being at least 16 years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and proficiency in English.

Overview

PAID NURSE TRAINING TRACK! This role offers paid training for individuals interested in nursing, including nursing students, former CNA, HHA, or PCA. The three‑week CNA Training Course runs Monday through Friday (roughly 7:30‑3:30). You will work alongside clinicians and complete tasks for residents. Upon passing, your status and pay will change from Support Aide to CNA. Elderwood will cover the CNA certification test and relevant onboarding requirements. Training will be paid and you will be clocked in during training hours.

Responsibilities (CNA Training Track – Support Aide)

• Transport or accompany ambulatory residents to various locations in the building (e.g., dining room, activity area, therapy or treatment areas).
• Make unoccupied resident beds as assigned.
• Assist in the dining room with food service, passing trays, cutting meat, opening cartons or other containers under licensed therapy staff direction.
• Distribute supplemental nourishments to residents who do not need to be fed, as directed.
• Conduct informal activities on the nursing unit when time permits, as directed.
• Supply fresh water in residents’ rooms, as directed.
• Prepare beds and bedwear of residents in the hour of sleep, as assigned.
• Help keep general areas of the assigned nursing unit neat and orderly, as directed.
• Clean residents’ equipment (wheelchair/geri chair, bed, etc.), as assigned.
• Keep the rooms of residents orderly, as assigned.
• Notify the therapist of any unusual incidents regarding residents.

Qualifications (CNA Training Track – Support Aide)

• 16 years of age required; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Employment Certificate/Permit required for 16‑17 year olds.
• No findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment, or misappropriation of property through any current or previous licensing agency.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or higher level for regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors.
