The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) serves as a senior member of the nursing assistant team, providing direct resident care. This role also supports the immediate supervisor with operational tasks, ensuring all duties are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal, state, and facility regulations.

Requirements
Ø Current valid certification of Certified Nursing Assistant credentials, as required by Illinois Department of Public Health or recommendation of an instructor of in-state approved C.N.A. program.
Ø Minimum of 1–2 years of CNA experience (long-term care preferred)
Ø Demonstrated leadership ability or prior Lead CNA experience preferred
Ø Ability and willingness to work harmoniously within a team environment departmentally.
Ø Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a diverse group of people.
Ø Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, clients/patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Ø Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances

Ø Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility.
Ø Must be able to frequently push, pull, move 20-30 lbs., and occasionally lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ø Sits, stands, bends, lifts, walks and climbs stairs, as needed to perform tasks/duties.
Ø May be scheduled to work weekends and holidays based on operational needs.
Ø Schedules are subject to change based on operational need.
Ø May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of clients during emergency situations.
Ø Aptitude for detail work.
Ø Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Ø Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Ø Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
