Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in State College, PA is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to assist residents with activities of daily living, respond to calls, and collaborate with the nursing team to maintain care quality.

You will help with mobility, meals, housekeeping as directed, lift and transfer residents safely, and participate in activity planning while following confidentiality policies.

Qualifications

  • Must possess current CNA license from the State and in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Organized and able to work with all levels of personnel.
  • Contributing member of nursing team; follow supervisor's instructions.
  • Polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Able to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
  • Able to safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
  • Uniform during working hours including name badge and a smile.
  • CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to become certified within 60 days.
  • Represent the community positively and professionally.
  • Attend and complete in-services and staff meetings.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.

  • Assists residents to and from dining and activities.
  • Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to report resident status and appointments.
  • Assist new residents with move-in transition and emotional support.
  • Report changes and interventions in Daily Log and clinical records.

Job Description
  • Must maintain a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living
  • Reports incidents involving residents to include care concerns or issues, to appropriate individuals (ex: HCC, RN/LPN, or ED) and completes appropriate documentation
  • Perform housekeeping duties, such as making resident beds, cleaning resident apartments, common areas, dining room, etc. as directed by supervisor
  • Respond promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts
  • Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies
  • Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents
  • Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information
  • Assists residents to and from the dining room, and to and from activities
  • Checks on residents, ensures attendance at meals and activities
  • Checks on residents who are ill and reports status or concerns to appropriate individuals documents appropriately when necessary
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to report resident status, upcoming community information, resident appointments, admissions, and transfers
  • Assists new residents with move-in transition: provide emotional support
  • Reports all resident changes and interventions and interventions in the Daily Log and clinical record. Notifies family as directed.
Requirements
  • Must possess current CNA license from the State in which the community is located and in good standing with the Board of Nursing

  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
  • Completes all other duties as assigned
