Job summary

The Orchards is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct resident care in a skilled nursing setting. You will assist with activities of daily living, transfers, and supervision under licensed staff, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety for residents.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in the state of employment.
• Completion of an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current CPR certification preferred or obtained within required timeframe.
• Minimum of six months of experience in geriatric or long-term care preferred.
• Experience caring for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other specialized populations preferred.
• Ability to safely operate resident lift equipment and follow safe resident handling procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Ability to complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Annual TB screening and other required health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care according to individualized care plans (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating).
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and use of lift equipment.
• Conduct safety rounds to promote resident comfort and safety.
• Record vital signs, weights, intake/output; report changes to Charge Nurse.
• Observe residents for changes and communicate concerns to staff.
• Respond to call lights and assist residents promptly and respectfully.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, meals, and hydration.
• Encourage participation in recreational/therapeutic activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of resident care.
• Keep rooms and equipment clean and follow infection prevention practices.
