Overview Private Care CNA is responsible for personal care, comfort measures and environmental services for the patients (including those needing special precautions) under supervisor of Nurse Manager. In addition, this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure. Promotes and maintains safe work environment for staff as well as our customers, incorporating national patient safety initiatives.
Provides personal care, comfort measures, environmental services, and specified treatments for a specified number of patients as determined by department standards. Follows the plan of care that assures patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care, within legal standards of practice, while maintaining privacy and support for the patient’s value system. Provides care consistent with both verbal and/or written instructions. Demonstrates competent understanding of assigned plans of care within appropriate scope of practice and responsibilities as directed by the RN/LPN to include accurately completing all required documentation. Demonstrates accountability for ensuring availability of resources (equipment, instruments, supplies) necessary to ensure positive patient outcomes. Maintains clean, safe and orderly work/patient environment by cleaning work stations/areas, equipment; stocking supplies; placing equipment in proper storage areas. Demonstrates the ability to follow the plan of care that assures patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care, within legal standards of practice, while maintaining privacy and support for the patient’s value system. Provides care consistent with both verbal and/or written instructions. Demonstrates competent understanding of assigned plans of care within appropriate scope of practice and responsibilities as directed by the RN/LPN to include accurately completing all required documentation. Participates positively in training and support of all team members, volunteers and students as needed.
