Under general direction from Nursing Manager and/or RN/LVN assists, the CNA ensures safe, compassionate care, follows directions, and maintains records. California CNA certification and BLS are required to qualify for this position.

Qualifications

• California CNA certificate and BLS required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions and work under pressure.

POSITION SUMMARY

DEFINITION

Under general direction from Nursing Manager, and/or RN/LVN assists, professional nursing personnel in providing resident care in assigned area.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training

Experience

Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility/Sub-Acute unit required.


Licensure/Certification

Possession of an appropriate, valid California certificate for nursing assistant.

BLS certification.


KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES



Ability to:

Understand and follow verbal and written directions.

Learn the terminology of parts and supplies associated with area of assignment.

Learn quickly the specific operations of a medical treatment unit.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and fellow employees.
