Job summary

Baptist is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT) in Jackson, MS. You will perform patient care tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse, maintain a safe and clean environment, and assist with patient mobility and discharge processes.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, and CNA certification with BLS within 14 days of hire. Prior experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year recent experience within past 6 months.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and collaborates with the RN.
• Performs patient care tasks under the RN including vital signs, glucose testing, phlebotomy, electrode placement, and devices.
• Performs basic patient care tasks including intake/output, weights, equipment retrieval, and stocking rooms.
• Maintains a clean, clutter-free patient environment and quiet surroundings.
• Assists patient/family with calls, room orientation, and discharge appointments.
• Assists with patient mobility and safety rounds.
• Promotes comfort with meals, water, ice, pillows, and blankets.
• Transports non-monitored patients and assists with monitored transports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
