Job summary

Whitehall Borough Post Acute is a 166-bed care facility seeking a registered nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in a team-focused environment. You will follow care plans, document in Point Click Care, and collaborate with a strong clinical team on day and evening shifts.

Shifts run from 6a-2p, 2p-10p, and 10p-6a with rotating schedules. The role offers hourly pay between $18.00 and $23.00, a 40-hour sick bank, and opportunities within the PACS Facility network.

Qualifications

  • Active PA nursing license in good standing.
  • CPR certification; BLS preferred.
  • Ability to maintain continuing education.
  • Commitment to patient rights and compassionate care.
  • Must be 18+ and pass background check.

Responsibilities

  • Perform essential nursing duties per policy and care plans.
  • Maintain and document patient care, vitals, and assessments.
  • Respond to resident calls promptly and document responses.
  • Assist residents with meals, hygiene, and daily activities.
  • Record resident intake and report changes to the care team.

Whitehall Borough Post Acute is a 166-bed post-acute care facility located at 505 Weyman Rd., Pittsburgh. Our positive reputation in the community is a testament to our incredible staff members.

Hourly Compensation Range $18.00-$23.00

8-hour shifts with 2-week rotating schedules

Facility shifts times: 6a-2p (1st) 2p-10p (2nd) ,10p-6a (3rd)

(*Open shifts are Subject to current availability upon hire)

Successful candidates will have the following:
  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as a nurse in PA and will remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing
  • Ability to maintain all required continuing education
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Clear Cisive Background Check- last 7 years reviewed
  • Active CPR Certification (BLS PREFERRED with Skills)
  • Experience with Point Click Care is preferred
  • Compassion for a vulnerable population and willingness to advocate for patients
  • Understanding of Patient Rights
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

Education and/or Experience:

Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Essential Duties:
  • Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.
  • Follow work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks.
  • Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other facility personnel to ensure that nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Notify the facility when you will be late or absent from work.
  • Check residents routinely to ensure that their personal care needs are being met.
  • Ensure that residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.
  • Answer resident calls promptly.
  • Assist residents with identifying food arrangements (i.e., informing resident with sight problem of foods that are on his/her tray, where it is located, if it is hot/cold, etc.).
