Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant for the Heart & Vascular Unit (HVU). The 7HVU is a fast-paced specialty unit providing care for cardiovascular patients, including LVAD and transplant patients, with a focus on collaboration and growth.

Shifts are nights, full-time or part-time, 7pm-7am or 7am-7pm. We offer tuition reimbursement, loan repayment, flexible scheduling where applicable, and education support through Clarkson College.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 for CNA; Nebraska CNA certification required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire; AHA-endorsed program.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred knowledge of computer data entry and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of patient`s plan of care.
• Assist with patient assessments, vitals, and documentation per unit standards.

It is considered a specialty medical/surgical unit that is fast paced and will provide growth in professional knowledge and expertise in the care delivery of our cardiovascular patients. The staff will care for specialty patients such as stable heart and lung transplants and Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs).
