Job summary

Avir Vista is seeking a Certified Nursing Aide to provide non-professional direct resident care under supervision of licensed nursing staff. The role focuses on maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for residents in a facility setting.

You will assist with activities of daily living, follow care plans, and document care provided while complying with safety and infection control policies. The job emphasizes teamwork and compassionate resident interaction.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Aide in good standing with the State or within four months have completed state required training.
• Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
• Must be able to relate positively to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other associates.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and positioning in bed or chair.
• Reads and follows daily care plans; performs restorative and rehabilitative procedures; reports changes to nurse in charge; documents care provision on resident records/flowsheets and reports accidents and incidents.
• Understands and follows safety, sanitation and infection control policy and procedures, including proper hand washing and use of PPE.
• Attend orientation and in-service training as required by the state and completes online education as deemed necessary.
• Promotes positive relationships with residents, visitors and government regulators; presents a professional appearance and attitude.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge of residents.
• Attend and participate in training, educational activities and staff meetings; assist with orientation and training other staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose:

To provide non-professional direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, and to assist in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the

residents.

Essential job Duties and Responsibilities:

Personal Care, Nursing Care, and Food Service Functions:

Assists residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, and positioning in and out of bed, chair, etc. Assists with resident recreation programs. Prepares residents for meals and snacks, assists residents in eating where needed and records food intake.

Reads and follows daily care plans; performs assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures; reports changes in resident condition to nurse in charge; documents care provision on resident record/flowsheets as required and reports accidents and incidents; and provides nursing functions as directed by supervisor

Safety, Sanitation and Infection Control:

Understands and follows safety, sanitation and infection control policy and procedures, to include but not limited to proper hand washing, proper wearing of masks and gloves and promptly reports any

violations to supervisor.

In-service and continuing education:

Attend orientation and in-service as required by the state.

Completes all required on-line education as deemed necessary by the state and the facility.

Resident Rights and relationships:

Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules regarding residents’ rights.

Promotes positive relationships with residents, visitors and government regulators, to include presenting a professional appearance and attitude.

Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical device):

Works in a climate-controlled and well-lighted environment.. Works in an office and throughout the building daily. Has Category 1 risk of exposure to infectious diseases, but receives training in handwashing practices and Universal Precautions and has access to personal protective equipment if direct exposure is anticipated. Is subject to interruptions, noise, and odors daily

Walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures, ability to communicate with residents and employees, ability to understand and follow training, ability to instruct staff in service education, and the ability to remain calm under stress.

Qualifications:

Must be a Certified Nursing Aide in good standing with the State or must within four (4) months of employment have completed state required training and a competency evaluation program.

Must have ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.

Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other associates.

Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
