Job summary

The Legacy Senior Communities is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (Memory Support) to provide compassionate personal care and assist residents with daily activities in a memory care setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks, vital signs, dining support, and light housekeeping, while ensuring adherence to safety standards and community policies. This role requires a Texas CNA certification and at least 6 months of CNA experience.

Qualifications

• Nurse’s Aide Certification in active and in good standing in the state of Texas.
• Minimum of 6 months of CNA experience.
• Language Ability: communicate effectively in writing and speaking the residents' primary language.
• Cognitive Demands: apply common sense to carry out instructions and handle problems.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living and notify Wellness Manager of changes.
• Follow all rules and regulations of Legacy community, state and federal.
• Answer resident calls for assistance.
• Take and record resident vital signs.
• Assist with toileting of residents/patients.
• Escort residents to dining room and activities.
• Serve and monitor residents during dining.
• Assist with light housekeeping and trash removal.
• Assist Lifestyles Coordinator with activities for residents.

CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT (Memory Support)

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide assistance and direction to residents with personal care needs and activities of daily living.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Assist residents with activities of daily living; notify Wellness Manager of any changes in resident needs or abilities
• Follow all applicable Legacy community, state and federal rules and regulations
• Answer resident calls for assistance
• Takes and records resident vital signs
• Assists with toileting of residents/patients
• Assist residents to and from the dining room and activities
• Serves and monitors residents during dining
• Assists residents with light daily housekeeping and trash removal
• Assist Lifestyles Coordinator with carrying out activities for residents

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

• Works primarily indoors in a climate controlled setting.
• Exposure to unpleasant odors.
• Possible exposure to chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual.
• Continuous exposure to residents who are ill, confused, irritable and irrational.
