Job summary

Westminster at Lake Ridge in Lake Ridge, VA is seeking Memory Support CNA/Medication Aide (MSAL) for part-time, on-site roles. The team provides compassionate, resident-centered care in a Continuing Care Retirement Community setting.

Responsibilities include medication administration, ADL support, and engagement in memory-stimulating activities, with shifts 7-3, 3-11, and 11-7; wage rates start at $19.36/hour commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

  • Requires CNA license and Medication Technician certification
  • Preferred experience with memory support or dementia care
  • Must obtain Certified Dementia Practitioner within first 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Administers prescribed medications following the Five Rights procedure

Looking for 6 PT Memory Support Certified Medication Tech's with a CNA license to work in a Senior Living Community in Lake Ridge, VA

Must have interest in working with Residents outside of patient care, to include household duties.

4 days per pay period to include every other weekend

Sun-Thurs-Mon-Sat (3) positions available for each shift 7-3, 3-11, and 11-7

Wage rates starting at $19.36 commensurate with experience the position requires both CNA/CMA license

Job Requirements

A high school diploma or GED isrequired, along with one to three years of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, preferably in a memory support or dementia care setting. Candidates must also hold a Medication Technician certification from an approved program orpossessan equivalent combination of education and experience. Within the first90 daysof hire, the incumbent must have current active status or the ability to register as a Certified Dementia Practitioner through the National Certification Council for Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP). Successful candidates willdemonstratethe ability to follow written and oral instructions,possessstrong verbal and written communication skills, andexhibitoutstanding customer service and interpersonal abilities. In addition, knowledge of medical nursing principles and practices is essential.

Personal Care

Provides quality resident-directed care based on individualized residentserviceplans.

  • Assistsresidentswithbathing, oral hygiene, dressing and toiletingin their preferredmethod and at their preferred time of day and frequency.
  • Maintain cleanliness, dryness, and comfort; promptly change soiled clothing or undergarments.
  • Reportsany abnormal skin or hygieneconcernstotheAssisted LivingManager.
  • Documentsfood andfluid intake; notify Assisted Living Manager and dietician of nutritional concerns.
  • Engage residents in memory-stimulating activities (music, puzzles, games.)

Medical Duties

Conducts daily assessments and general medical care functions

  • Monitor and record vital signs as ordered by the physician or per Assisted Living Manager.
  • Record changes in resident condition and provide proper notification to Assisted Living Manger.
  • Support dementia-specific care bymonitoringbehavioral changes that mayindicatemedication issues.
  • Collaborate with Assisted Living Manager and physician to adjust medication plans when necessary.
  • Responds to residents’ calls forassistancepromptly.
  • Measures intake and output on residents as directed; records and reports the findings appropriately, noting any irregularities.
  • Recordsresident bowel functions, noting irregularities.
MedicationAdministration

Provides medication on a regular basis to residents inMemory Support Assisted Living

  • Administers resident’s prescribed medicationsand treatmentson a daily basisto include transdermal patches, nebulization with inhalation medications, and pillsaccording tophysician'sorders
  • Follow the Five Rights of medication administration: right resident, right medication, right dose, rightrouteand right time.
  • Document medication administration on EMR,monitorresidents side effects or changes in condition; report concerns promptly to Assisted Living Manager.
  • Maintain medication inventory, ensure proper storage, and check for expired medications.
  • Reviews assigned resident charts to ensure the proper medication is administered at the proper time.
  • Keepthe medicationcartandmedicationroom clean,organized,and stocked.
