Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital (NCSH) is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patients across the age spectrum, from infants to geriatrics. Under RN supervision, you will assist with activities of daily living, provide basic nursing care, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

The role also involves clerical duties to support patient flow, ability to work under pressure with tact, and potential to assist physicians during procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with CNA certification.
  • CNA I required; CNA II preferred.
  • BLS certification through an AHA or ARC accredited course.
  • Minimum 1 year hospital-based or ambulatory surgical center experience.
  • Experience with medical records and computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients across the age continuum with activities of daily living.
  • Provide basic nursing care and maintain a safe, clean environment.
  • Perform clerical and receptionist duties to support patient care.
  • Work well under pressure with patience and tact.
  • Assist physicians in procedures when required.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the registered nurse, the NA will assist patients across the age continuum (4 weeks to geriatric) with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to patients and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. The NA must demonstrate the ability to provide clerical support and receptionist duties to enhance delivery of patient care. The NA must demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina and endurance. The primary objective of this position is to assure the delivery of comprehensive, safe, effective, cost effective and appropriate nursing care for patients across the age continuum in accordance with established hospital policy, nursing practice standards. The NA must demonstrate the ability to assist physicians in procedures.

Experience, Training & Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with documented certification as a nursing assistant
  • CNAI certification required; CNA II certification preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; certification must be through an AHA or ARC accredited course.
  • At least one (1) year of previous experience in a hospital based or ambulatory surgical center
  • Previous experience with medical records and computer skills preferred
