Job summary

The Barrington of Carmel, a The Barrington of Carmel (A BHI Community) facility, is seeking dedicated individuals for a Nurse Aide in Training program. You will participate in a state-approved CNA training, learn personal care, safety, and resident rights, and complete clinical rotations under supervision in a supportive setting.

Upon completion, you may select CNA schedules based on performance and operational needs, with full-time positions not guaranteed but graduates supported to secure

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Commit to full duration of the training program and required clinical hours.
• Able to study independently outside scheduled class time.
• Pass basic reading and math comprehension test during HR interview.
• Excellent communication and responsiveness to feedback.
• Preferred: BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain on hire.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a comprehensive CNA training course.
• Learn essential concepts related to personal care, safety, infection control, and resident rights.
• Practice hands-on skills under supervision of an instructor prior to clinical placement.
• Complete clinical rotations with CNAs in a supportive care environment.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
• Support residents during meals, hydration, and social activities.
• Learn to take and record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other basic nursing functions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful living environment for residents.
• Respond to resident needs and emergencies while learning escalation and communication protocols.
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans.
