Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, is hiring a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients receiving hospice services. The role supports families, promotes comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being, and collaborates with the hospice care team to follow the care plan.

The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and requires a current CNA certification, CPR, and a valid driver’s license. Hourly pay ranges from $17.55 to $26.35 based on full-time hours and location.

CNA or Home health experience preferred within the last 12 months

As the CNA Hospice Aide, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, hands‑on care to patients and support for their families during end‑of‑life care. This position focuses on assisting patients with daily living activities while promoting comfort, dignity, and emotional well‑being. Working closely with the hospice care team, as the CNA Hospice Aide, you will help ensure patients receive respectful, individualized care in alignment with their care plan.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provides personal care services to patients
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care, such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with normal range of motion and positioning, and performing household chores
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding, as assigned
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient status. If unable to perform a certain task, reports to the primary nurse
• Follows specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA) in accordance with state certification/registration requirements
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance

Preferred Qualifications:

• CNA experience within the last 2 years
