Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate personal care in home settings across Rhode Island. You will work under RN supervision to support daily living activities and comfort for patients in their homes.

Responsibilities include safe patient transfer, meals, housekeeping, vital status observations, and documenting care as directed. Requires active CNA license and CPR; reliable transportation a must.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state CNA certification.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to assist with ambulation, transfers, ROM, positioning, and household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status; report to the primary nurse if unable to perform a task.
• Follows written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
