Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a PRN Days Hospice Aide in Norfolk, NE. This role provides essential personal care to patients at home, following care plans created with registered nurses.

You will assist with daily living activities, meals, and home environment support, while documenting changes and adhering to safety practices. Requires a CNA license, CPR certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CNA license/certification.
• CNA experience within last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental tasks as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Follow written care instructions provided by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as directed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs simple urine tests (sugar, ketone, albumin).
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
