Job summary

Amedisys in Maryland is seeking a hospice aide to provide compassionate home health and hospice care in Prince George's County. The role requires CNA certification, CPR, and a valid driver’s license, with preference for recent home health or hospice experience.

Flexible, full-time daytime hours with engagement in a supportive, patient-centered team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state CNA certification.
• CNA experience within last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics in caregiving tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes and reports any changes in patient condition to the nurse.
• Follows written plan of care and documents tasks performed.

Responsibilities

Homehealth/hospice experience preferred within last 12 months

Coverage area: Prince George's County, Southern PG County

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals,assist s with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Homehealth/hospice experience preferred within last 12 months

Coverage area: Prince George's County, Southern PG County

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
