Job summary

Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support the nursing team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing basic care tasks and reporting vital signs. After orientation, you will handle delegated responsibilities across hygiene, nutrition, elimination, activity, comfort and safety needs.

Responsibilities include obtaining supplies, transporting patients, and reporting findings to the RN.

Qualifications

• Provides basic nursing support under RN supervision.
• Obtains and reports vital signs (TPR and BP).
• Transports patients and obtains supplies as needed.
• Understands and applies basic nursing skills within unit scope.

The Nursing Assistant functions within his/her scope of practice under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse to assist in providing care and implementing delegated activities of the nursing plan. S/he demonstrates an understanding of basic nursing skills and skills unique to the assigned clinical unit(s).

Following orientation, s/he assumes delegated responsibility which may include (but not be limited to) such tasks as: meeting the hygienic, nutritional, elimination, activity, comfort and safety needs of patients; obtains and reports vitals signs (TPR and BP); performs urine reductions, transports (transfers, discharges) patients; obtains supplies/equipment as necessary from designated departments.

Required Qualifications:

• Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
