Job summary

The Arizona Department of Veterans Services is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join the Arizona State Veterans' Home in Phoenix. This PRN pool position offers 12-hour rotating shifts and a pathway to meaningful care for veterans.

As a CNA, you will support residents with ADLs, monitor vital signs, assist nursing staff, and participate in team meetings and AMS-driven improvements. A state license, background checks, and E-Verify are required.

Qualifications

• Current or temporary license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Arizona.
• Current TB test within the last 12 months or physician/PA/RN statement if previously positive.
• Must obtain and retain a fingerprint clearance card.
• Current CPR card obtained by physical assessment.
• All newly hired State employees must complete E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs and accompany them using medical equipment.
• Monitor physical and mental status and take vital signs and samples as needed.
• Respond promptly to resident requests and communicate needs to staff and families.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and care plan development.
• Assist with procedures under supervision and maintain a sterile environment.
