Job summary

State of Arkansas is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant – Independent to provide direct patient care in state-run facilities. The CNA works under licensed nursing staff, assists with daily living activities, monitors patients, and helps maintain comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Active Arkansas CNA certification is required.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and PPE use.
• Ability to accurately document patient information.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral care.
• Support mobility with transfers and use of assistive devices such as wheelchairs or walkers.
• Assist with feeding and hydration, ensuring proper nutrition.
• Measure and record vital signs and report abnormalities to nursing staff.
• Document patient information in medical charts or electronic health records.
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain sanitary conditions in patient areas.
