Job summary

Extendicare Health and Rehab in Alabama seeks a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily personal care to residents in accordance with care plans. You will perform ADLs, monitor vital signs, assist with feeding, document care, and support residents in activities, ensuring safety and comfort. CNA certification required or obtained within 120 days.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Alabama or obtain certification within 120 days of hire.
• Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care and ADL care to residents including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting.
• Keeps residents rooms and care areas clean and neat.
• Documents care as instructed and required.
• Reports changes in resident condition to the charge nurse.
• Monitors vital signs and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Assists with feeding and meal assistance.
• Responds to call lights and resident requests promptly.
• Assists with lifting, turning, positioning, and transporting residents as needed.
• Encourages participation in activity programs and assists as needed.
• Performs restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
• Assists in transporting residents to dining room, therapy, activity and social programs.
• Participates in orientation of new residents to the facility.
• Performs other duties as directed.
