Job summary

Hospice of North Alabama is seeking a compassionate Hospice CNA to join our Decatur-area team. You will provide 1:1 patient care in a supportive environment, following state guidelines for medications and documentation.

The role offers a Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm schedule with opportunities for advancement as part of a growing organization. We value empathy, reliability and strong communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months experience including personal care.
• Must be 18+ and complete 75 hours of classroom and supervised training, with 16 hours of classroom prior to 16 hours of practical training.
• CPR certification required.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Personal Care (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, repositioning).
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, ROM exercises, safe equipment use.
• Assist with self-administered medications per state regulations.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
• Perform light housekeeping: change linens, meals, space maintenance.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Collaborate with hospice interdisciplinary team.
