Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Delaware, seeks a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision, following established care plans. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patients, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment.

Under supervision, you will document vitals, support feeding, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure consistent, compassionate care for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Beebe requires a CNA certification in Delaware.
• BLS/Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients per individualized care plans.
• Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, oral care, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Assists in transport and transfers ensuring comfort and safety.
• Monitors and records vital signs and intake/output; reports abnormalities.
• Performs hourly rounds and responds to call lights promptly.
• Maintains patient hygiene, turns/repositions to prevent ulcers.
• Assists with feeding and hydration within dietary restrictions.
• Documents accurately and promptly.
• Collaborates with the care team to promote positive outcomes.

Overview

Under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, the nursing assistant performs various duties in the care and treatment of patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients in accordance with their individualized care plans
• Assists patient with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assist in transportation and transfer of patients, ensuring comfort and safety during movement
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to nursing team
• Accuchecks completed as directed
• Accurate and prompt documentation
• Assist with patient hygiene and comfort measures, including turning and repositioning patients to prevent pressure ulcers
• Support patients with feeding and hydration needs, adhering to dietary restrictions and assisting with mealtime activities. Removing trays in timely manner.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes
• Completes hourly rounds to assigned patients and anticipates patient needs. Responding promptly to call lights and patient requests
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions
• Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, including changing bed linens, stocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness of patient rooms, and preparing rooms for admissions and transfers.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff
• Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care and hospital procedures

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Credentials

• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in DE
• BLS - Basic Life Saving Certification

Education

• High school diploma preferred OR current high school student with CNA license (work schedule in compliance with the State of Delaware Department of Labor Regulations)
