The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to residents during the scheduled work period in long‑term care. Provides resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Delivers age‑appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of residents as per care plans, follows infection prevention and control policies, and uses personal protective equipment. Assists with daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing and undressing, records vital signs, offers psychosocial support, and assists with transfer, repositioning, and walking using proper techniques and equipment. Provides range‑of‑motion and passive exercises, assists with food preparation and dining, supplies water and supplements, and participates in wellness and recreational programs. Supports nursing staff with procedures, documents resident interactions and outcomes, communicates changes in condition to the charge nurse, collects non‑invasive specimens, and performs housekeeping and laundry services as needed. May participate in departmental or organizational committees and task forces.
