Job summary

Bristol Hospice in Loveland, CO is seeking certified CNAs and HHAs to support patients in their homes. You will provide personal care, assist with daily living activities, and work under a registered nurse supervision to promote comfort and dignity.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to undergo criminal background check and annual checks.
  • Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

Job Details: Location – Loveland, CO – NOCO Frederick Office – Loveland, CO 80537. Position Type – Full Time, Hourly. Salary Range – $19.00–$22.00 per hour. Shift – Swing.

The Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide plays a critical role as a member of the Interdisciplinary Group Team. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and perform various services for patients to meet their personal needs and promote comfort.

Qualifications
  • Spend quality one‑on‑one time with patients and their families to support everyday needs.
  • Care for hospice patients by providing paths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos, and changing bed linen as often as needed.
  • Provide bedtime care including personal hygiene regimens as required.
  • Provide aroma therapy and gentle touch.
  • Provide lotion rubs to hands and feet.
  • Perform personal care needs after given a patient’s assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the Case Manager immediately.
  • Provide patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality.
  • Help patients dress and undress.
  • Record important health information including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
  • Assess and report patient condition and any significant changes to the Case Manager.
  • Assist patients with ambulation and exercise.
  • Respect patient and family/caregiver environment and patient’s personal needs.
  • And additional duties as assigned.
  • Provide respite for patient’s family/caregiver when on‑site, as appropriate.
  • Maintain patient’s living area is clean and orderly, as assigned.
  • Adhere to the organization’s documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
  • Participate in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Certification of Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide required per state regulations.
  • Preferred to have one (1) year experience as an aide in community health/hospice or medical/surgical experience.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
  • Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization/state requirements and is in good working order.
  • Willingness to submit to a criminal background check prior to hire and annually thereafter.
  • Current CPR certification.

  • An understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort providing specialized care to the terminally ill.
  • Ability to work autonomously with little direct supervision.
  • Successfully demonstrate tact, patience and good personal hygiene.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of plan of care documentation.
  • Flexible in work hours to ensure the patients receive care as provided in the plan of care.
  • Ability to empathize with the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired.
  • Comfortable addressing issues of death/dying.
  • Calm demeanor when entering the patient’s home.
