Job summary

UW Medical Center-Northwest is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) for a 90% FTE position at 36 hours per week. The role requires one year of acute care hospital experience and the night shift is available.

You will work under the supervision of Registered Nurses to support patients and families. Qualified candidates hold WA CNA certification, a high school diploma, and BLS CPR certification.

Qualifications

  • Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (WA) with NA-C credential number on resume.
  • High School diploma with six months direct patient care or health-care customer service experience, or equivalent.
  • Valid American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR by start date.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, mobility, toileting, eating).
  • Maintain a safe environment of care.
  • Transport patients.
  • Prepare patients for surgery.
  • Perform non-invasive lab procedures.
  • Transport equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with treatments.
  • Perform clerical tasks.
  • Take vital signs.

UW Medical Center-Northwest) Float Pool has an outstanding opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) position.

Schedule

90% FTE - 36 hours per week

Day shift

No specific schedule

Must have one year of Acute Care Hospital Experience.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, and eating
  • Maintain a safe environment of care
  • Patient transportation
  • Prepare patients for surgery
  • Perform non-invasive lab procedures
  • Transport equipment and supplies
  • Assist with treatments
  • Perform various clerical tasks
  • Take vital signs
Requirements
  • Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with WA State (please indicate your NA-C credential number on your resume)
  • High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card by start date
