Job summary

Viera Health & Rehab Center in Viera, FL is hiring full-time and part-time Certified Nursing Assistants to provide direct resident care under licensed supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor residents, and help ensure a compassionate, safe environment.

The facility offers a competitive hourly base rate of $16–$18 with $1–$1.25 shift differential, BCBS health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and other staff appreciation programs.

Qualifications

• Current Florida CNA certification required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care under supervision of licensed staff.
• Assist with grooming, bathing, dressing, and oral care.
• Assist with meals and feeding as needed.
• Record vital signs and input/output data.
• Assist in turning, positioning, and mobility.
• Report changes to the Charge Nurse and participate in care planning.

Summary for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Perform direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.

Responsibilities of Certified Nursing Assistant

• Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed.

• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.

• Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.

• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned.

• Routinely turn and position residents, as necessary.

• Observe residents carefully and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse.

• Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care. Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care.

• Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs.

• Prepare residents for each meal and transport to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves.

• Keep an accurate record of food intake and output, as directed.

• Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control.

• Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed.

• Promptly answer call lights and assist with other resident needs.

• Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested.

Requirements/Qualifications of Certified Nursing Assistant

• Current Nursing Assistant certification from state of Florida.

• Current/active CPR certification, preferred.

• At least one (1) year Skilled Nursing experience preferred.

• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.

• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
