Job summary

HMG Healthcare in Houston, TX is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to deliver compassionate, direct patient care in a fast-paced post-acute environment. CNAs support daily living activities, monitor patients, and assist the nursing team to ensure safety and comfort.

Qualified candidates have a state-approved CNA training, current CNA certification in Texas, strong communication and teamwork skills, and are able to pass health screenings and background checks.

Qualifications

• Completion of a state-approved Certified Nurse Assistant training program.
• Current CNA certification/license valid in the state applying for.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and patient care procedures.
• Ability to pass a background check and meet health screening requirements.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems (preferred).
• Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility.
• Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, addressing their needs with empathy and respect.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of patient rooms and common areas to promote a safe environment.
• Report any changes in patients’ conditions or concerns to the nursing staff promptly.
• Assist with patient transfers and positioning to prevent bedsores and promote comfort.
• Support nursing staff with medical procedures and documentation as required.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and healthcare regulations at all times.
