Job summary

The Emerald Peek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is hiring a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in Peekskill, NY. The role involves providing daily resident care, assisting with grooming, feeding, and mobility, and supporting the care team to ensure comfort and safety.

We offer daily or weekly pay options, an interview with our Administrator and DON, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The position starts immediately, with opportunities for growth and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in NY state.
• Must have at least 6 months of CNA experience.
• Current/active CPR certification.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care of residents daily and as needed.
• Change bed linen and maintain supplies in resident room.
• Ambulate and transfer residents using appropriate devices.
• Record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other information.
• Routinely turn and position residents.
• Observe residents and report changes to Charge Nurse.
• Assist in data collection for MDS and care plan development.
• Provide adequate hydration and assist with meals and feeding when needed.
• Keep accurate records of food intake and output.
• Monitor environment for ventilation, temperature, light and noise control.
• Take vital signs as directed.
• Respond promptly to call lights and assist with other needs.
• Assist in orientation and training of staff.

Salary: up to $26 an hour $1,000 Sign on BONUS

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed.
• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.
• Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned.
• Routinely turn and position residents, as necessary.
• Observe residents carefully and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse.
• Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care. Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care.
• Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs.
• Prepare residents for each meal and transport them to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves.
• Keep an accurate record of food intake and output, as directed.
• Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control.
• Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed.
• Promptly answer call lights and assist with other resident needs.
• Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested.
