Qualifications

• State certification as a nursing assistant is required.
• Familiarity with the duties of a certified nursing assistant.
• Strong observational abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort.
• Promotes and supports independence for residents.
• Advises supervising charge nurse of resident’s status at shift start and end.
• Contributes knowledge of resident’s conditions/needs to care plans.
• Assist in implementing care plans as directed within policies.
• Observes and reports on residents’ conditions and documents observations.
• Ensures safe lifting/transfer of residents per policies.
• Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting.
• Ensures equipment is clean and functional.
• Performs incidental housekeeping or maintenance tasks to maintain a clean environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
