Job summary

VitaCare Living - Hayward I & II is seeking a compassionate CNA/Care Specialist to support residents with daily activities and medications. You’ll join a caring team in a purpose-driven community, with flexible shifts (FT/PT/Casual/Weekend Warrior) and a focus on dignity and resident well-being.

Responsibilities include medication administration, responding to call lights, light housekeeping, charting, and assisting with ADLs and activities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Current CNA certification preferred but not required
• Ability to work every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as directed by the RN with careful accuracy.
• Respond to resident call lights within 10 minutes to ensure timely care.
• Perform light housekeeping in resident rooms at least weekly.
• Maintain high standards of room sanitation, including changing bedpans and sheets.
• Accurately document services in the chart and ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living per each Client Service Plan, avoiding missed tasks.
• Support daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, toileting, meals, and medication administration.
• Encourage and initiate activities to promote residents’ mental and physical health and social interaction

Salary Information

$18 - $26 hourly

Responsibilities

• Administer Medications:Dispense medications as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN), maintaining an annual error rate of no more than one mistake
• Resident Response:Attend to any and all resident call lights within 10 minutes to ensure responsive and attentive care
• Light Housekeeping:Perform regular light housekeeping in resident rooms at least once weekly to promote a clean and comfortable living space
• Keep each room up to high standards of sanitization by changing bedpans and sheets, and performing regular room cleaning
• Service Charting:Accurately document all services provided without missing tasks, ensuring compliance with company standards
• Assistance with ADLs:Support residents in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) according to each individual's Client Service Plan, with a zero-tolerance policy for missed tasks
• Give patient support with basic care, daily living activities, bathing, getting dressed, going to the restroom, eating regular meals, and taking proper medication dosages
• Activities:Encourage and initiate activities to enhance residents' mental and physical health and promote socialization

Qualifications

• Physical requirements include being able to lift up to 100 lbs, may be required to stoop, bend, reach, and transfer patients up to 250 lbs as needed
• Some college preferred, but a high school diploma or GED is required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are valuable, as is a compassionate, empathetic, and kind personality

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work every other weekend
• CBRF Certifications or willingness to obtain during employment
• Current CNA license- preferred but not required
