Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Dubuque seeks a Nurse Assistant to join our team on a 12-hour night shift. The role involves assisting patients with activities of daily living and delivering holistic, compassionate care consistent with our mission and policies.

You will support patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, participate in a 0.9 FTE night schedule, with weekend/holiday rotation. Relevant CNA course or active registry and BLS training are required soon after hire.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old (18 in some areas).
• Active Iowa registry (required for long-term care CNAs) or proof of CNA course, EMT certification, or military medical specialty training.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.

As a Nurse Assistant at MercyOne, the Nurse Assistant you will provide holistic, compassionate, individualized, and effective patient care by assisting the patient with activities of daily living. Nurse Assistant (NA) also provide other physical, emotional, and spiritual needs consistent with the Mission of MercyOne, Vision of Patient Care Services, evidence-based standards of care, and established policies and procedures.

General Requirements

• All Nurse Assistants (other than Senior Care): Must be at least 16 years of age, Child labor laws are applicable to all minors under the age of 18. May be required to be 18 years of age in some area.
• Must meet at least one of the following requirements: Be active on the Iowa registry (required for long term care nurse assistants in Iowa, and nurse assistants who work in Illinois or Wisconsin are required to be on their respective state's registry) Show proof of completion of 75-hour CNA course Show proof of EMT Certification Show proof of formally holding (and completed training for) a medical occupation specialty from the military (current or former)
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will be required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
