The CNA provides direct resident care and assistance with daily living activities while promoting comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
• Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with accuracy and professionalism.
• Support patient transfer methods using equipment like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safety for both patient and caregiver.
• Document patient care activities thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to nursing staff or healthcare providers, especially in critical care or emergency situations.
• Provide emotional support and compassionate communication tailored to patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments.
• Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care or medication administration under supervision when qualified.

Requirements

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited program.
• Experience working with a variety of patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, or individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS).
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safe lifting practices during patient transfers or mobility assistance.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and caregivers.
• Prior experience in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), or home & community care settings is highly desirable.
