Job summary

Apploi in United States West Jefferson, NC seeks a compassionate Nurse Aide to provide personalized care to residents in an assisted living setting.

You will support daily living activities, assist with meals and mobility, document changes, and respond to calls while upholding resident rights and dignity.

Qualifications

• Nurse Aide 1 or willing to obtain Personal Care Services certification within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and assistance to residents in accordance with the resident philosophy and policies, and resident rights.
• Assist residents in meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Adhere to each resident’s individual service plan; notify the Resident Care Coordinator or Memory Care Coordinator of any changes in the resident’s condition.
• Answer and respond immediately to resident calls.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.
• Check on residents as appropriate; document and report findings.
• Assist with resident activities, encourage and assist residents to participate in activities.
• Encourage residents to attend meals in the dining room, escort to dining room, assist with serving meals and observing changes in appetite and eating abilities.
• Assist with cleaning dining room after meals and tidying residents’ rooms.
• Assist with residents’ personal laundry and facility laundry.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with residents and their families.
• Dispose of incontinent products per OSHA regulations and residence policy.
• Practice proper body mechanics and safety during lifting; respond to emergencies per policy.
• Offer choice, maintain dignity, and promote individuality for all residents.
• Protect and maintain resident rights; encourage resident independence.
• Carry out duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Summary

Provide personalized care and service, uphold the philosophy of assisted living, and promote the well-being of the residents. Provide assistance and support with residents’ activities of daily living, and instrumental activities of daily living.

Primary Responsibilities

Physical Job Requirements

To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical tasks for extended periods of time. When supporting, lifting, or transferring residents, proper body mechanics and safety measures as prescribed by the residence must be used.

In a typical twelve hour shift, the employee may be asked to:

• Stand/walk up to 12 hours per day


• Sit up to 2 hours per day


• Frequently support up to 70 pounds


• Occasionally lift/carry up to 15 pounds


• Frequently kneel, bend, reach and carry
