Job summary

Bristol Hospice in Philipsburg, PA is seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. Under RN supervision, you will provide personal care, comfort measures, and support to patients and families as part of the Interdisciplinary Group Team.

The role features an hourly pay range of $18.00 to $21.00, a Monday–Friday schedule from 11am–7pm, and mileage reimbursement. We value compassion, dignity, and a heart for hospice care.

Qualifications

• Certification as a CNA per state regulations is required.
• Minimum 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
• Licensed driver with insured vehicle as required.
• Willingness to submit to background checks annually.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care including personal hygiene and comfort measures.
• Record vital signs and report changes to the Case Manager.
• Assist with ambulation, dressing, and daily activities as needed.
• Maintain clean, orderly patient living areas and document care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care team.

Qualifications

• Spend quality one on one time with patients and their families to support everyday needs


• Care for hospice patients by providing paths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos, and changing bed linen as often as needed


• Provide bedtime care including personal hygiene regimens as required


• Provide aroma therapy and gentle touch


• Provide lotion rubs to hands and feet


• Perform personal care needs after given a patient's assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the Case Manager immediately.


• Provide patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality.


• Help patients dress and undress


• Record important health information including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure


• Assess and report patient condition and any significant changes to the Case Manager


• Assist patients with ambulation and exercise


• Respect patient and family/caregiver environment and patient's personal needs


• And additional duties as assigned


• Provide respite for patient's family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriate


• Maintain patient's living area is clean and orderly, as assigned


• Adhere to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct


• Participate in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities


• Respect patient and family/caregiver environment and patient's personal needs


• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Certification of Nursing Assistantor Home Health Aide required per state regulations


• Preferred to have one (1) year experience as Aide in community health/hospice or medical/surgical experience


• Must have completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training


• Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization/state requirements and is in good working order


• Willingness to submit to a criminal background check prior to hire and annually thereafter


• Current CPR certification
