Job summary

Pinnacle Group of Hudson Valley Ltd is seeking a nursing aide to provide routine daily nursing care to elders in our facility in Maine. The role requires reading, writing, and speaking English, independent decision making, and a compassionate approach to residents and families.

The successful candidate will work with a team, handle routine caregiving tasks, and may assist with transporting residents and handling equipment. Vaccinations must be up to date prior to hire.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
• Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Possess the ability to deal graciously with personnel, elders, family members, visitors, and the general public.
• Must have patience, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, and willing to handle elders based on their maturity level.
• Must have some understanding of social, psychological and recreational needs of the aged.
• Must have a sincere desire to work with the aged.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other associates.
• Possesses the ability to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing programs.
• Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of the position.
• Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
• Must possess sight and hearing senses, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function.
• May be required and trained to transport elders who need personal assistance; lifting of equipment, supplies and furniture, weighing 50+ pounds may be required
• Vaccinations must be up-to-date and proof provided prior to hire

Broad Function: To provide elders with routine daily nursing care in accordance with current federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulation governing the facility as well as established nursing home policies and procedures.
