Job summary

Willmer Engineering in Atlanta is seeking civil engineering students to join our team as Construction Materials Testing Technicians while you finish your degree. You’ll gain hands-on field and lab experience on commercial, industrial, transportation, and GDOT projects.

You’ll perform field testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt, operate testing equipment, and prepare field reports, with overtime and a clear path to full-time work after graduation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a civil engineering program (or a related field).
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to lift 70 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, outdoors.
• Flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Work in both field and laboratory settings.
• Break and test concrete cylinders and record results.
• Conduct testing in accordance with ASTM, ACI, and GDOT standards (training provided).
• Learn to operate nuclear density gauges, compression machines, coring equipment, and other testing gear.
• Prepare accurate field reports and documentation.
• Communicate with contractors, engineers, and project managers.
• Follow safety procedures and quality standards.
• Work nights and weekends as needed.
