Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Staff Project Manager I to join our Tempe field services team. No experience is required as you’ll learn to manage diverse projects under senior staff guidance.

You will support project management tasks, assist with proposals, budgets, and invoices, and grow through training in ASTM standards and CMT principles within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Geology; Construction Management degrees may not be considered.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to obtain advanced licensure (EIT, PE).
• Interest in project management, consulting, and business development.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
• Sound understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Functional knowledge of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards.

• Support management of construction materials testing projects: daily report review, collaborating with senior staff, resolving issues, training field staff.
• Manage project budgets, prepare invoices and change orders, assist with collections.
• Assist with preparation of proposals for projects.
• Perform or assist with laboratory testing, soil classification, testing of soils, foundations, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, structural steel, fireproofing, and asphalt pavement as needed.

Responsibilities

• Tasks supporting the management of construction materials testing projects, including daily report review, collaborating with senior staff, providing resolutions of issues as they arise, and training field staff on your projects.
• Manage project budgets, prepare invoices, change orders, and assist with collection efforts.
• Assist with preparation of proposals for projects.
• Other duties may include assisting with or performing the following: laboratory testing, soil classification, and testing of soils, foundations, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, structural steel, and fireproofing and asphalt pavement, as needed.
